Scoop 77 - March 2021

Monthly newsletter for March 2021

Presidents Message

Hey Ladies! With March coming to an end, it is a great time to reflect on our successful WIC week, and fantastic Women's History Month! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard this month getting everything ready. From the billboards all across Eugene, to the beautiful stoll in the park, this WIC Week was a breath of fresh air. With vaccines slowly rolling out, we are getting closer to hosting in-person meetings. We hope to keep that "fresh air" feeling going with some outdoor events coming soon. Stay tuned!

April is only a few days away, and with that comes our Chapter’s 58th Anniversary! Can you believe it?! Next month's Scoop #77 will have some good historical tidbits for everyone to enjoy. It is always nice to take a minute and appreciate how far we've come!

The new members page on the website is now live. Don't forget to send me your selfies so I can add them to your profile!

We had a great turn out for WIC Week this year, especially with it being almost entirely virtual! We had such a good response to our billboards around Eugene and Springfield.

Monday night we had a "Why NAWIC?" Zoom event were Robin did a presentation on the history of NAWIC, what we are all about, and everything we do to help empower women in the industry. We had a fun NAWIC trivia game with prizes at the end that was a blast!

Wednesday night we held our general meeting and Jared Abbott from the City of Eugene gave a presentation on the Downtown Riverfront project, where we learned about some of the new development that will be coming into downtown Eugene.

Thursday we attended the PNW Region Virtual Party, which gave us some inspiration and fun! It was a great time to catch up with our region neighbors to play some games, and chat about what was new in our chapters!

Friday we held a Walk in the Park social where everyone could get out into the fresh air and catch up with some good friends. Furry friends were welcomed and as you can see in the photo below, even enjoyed some social time!

It was great to see all the posts about WIC Week around the web. One in particular stands out; a local architect Randy Nishimura, AIA, CSI, CCS wrote on his blog, SW Oregon Architect, about us and our WIC Week. A huge thank you to everyone for getting the word out there and making this an awesome week for all!
